Drohobych to receive the fallen defender Yevhen Nazarov

On 30 June in Drohobych there will be a reception for the funeral cortege bearing the body of Yevhen Nazarov, a defender of Ukraine whose death was recently officially confirmed. After the reception, the city will hold a citywide farewell and the warrior’s funeral.

Yevhen Nazarov was born on 26 April 1985 in Drohobych. He studied at Secondary School No. 14 and later continued his education at the Drohobych branch of the Lviv Polytechnic National University.

The Drohobych native joined the ranks of Ukraine’s defenders on 29 March 2025. He served as a rifleman and assistant grenadier in the parachute battalion of military unit A1126. Contact with the serviceman was lost on 15 June 2025 near the village of Poltavka in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk region. Only now has his death been officially confirmed, and the warrior’s body is being brought home for farewell and burial.

The fallen defender is survived by his father, wife, son and two brothers. His family and loved ones are in mourning.

The reception of the funeral cortege with the body of Yevhen Nazarov is scheduled for 30 June at 13:30 at the Heroes’ crossroads in Drohobych. At 14:00 a citywide farewell will take place on Rynok Square. The funeral service will continue at 14:30 in the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, after which the defender will be buried at the cemetery on Pylypa Orlyka Street.
