The Drohobych community bids farewell to defender Andriy Voznyak

On 15 June, the Drohobych community welcomed home fallen defender of Ukraine, Drohobych resident Andriy Voznyak, who had long been considered missing in action. This was reported by Drohobych City Council.

The funeral cortege bearing the soldier’s body arrived at the Heroes crossroads. There, Andriy Voznyak was met by his family, relatives, friends, comrades-in-arms, community leaders, clergy and local residents. Those present, kneeling in prayer together, paid him their final respects.

After the reception, the cortege proceeded to Rynok Square, where a citywide farewell was held for the fallen defender. Residents of the community honoured the memory of the soldier who gave his life for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.

Afterwards, the funeral procession moved to the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, where the funeral rite was held and a joint prayer offered for the repose of the soul of Andriy Voznyak.

The defender’s body will find its eternal rest at the cemetery on Pylypa Orlyka Street. The community expressed its condolences to the family and loved ones of the fallen soldier.
