A mourning cortege bearing the body of fallen defender Ivan Lisnyi, who is returning home for the last time upon his shield, will arrive at Horodok’s central square. The cortege is scheduled to arrive at 12:30, after which the warrior will be taken to his native Dobriany, where the community is preparing to receive him at 13:10.
On the same day, the funeral service for Ivan Lisnyi will take place. Residents of the community are being urged to join in honouring the memory of the fallen warrior as an expression of gratitude for his service to Ukraine and its people.
It is reported that this has become a sorrowful blow for the community: the death of the warrior, who had been listed as missing for more than a year, has now been confirmed. From now on, he will forever stand in the heavenly ranks of defenders.
Ivan Yuriiovych Lisnyi, a native of Dobriany, was born on 30 August 1979. He served in the 25th Separate Airborne Brigade and was killed on 3 July 2025 while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the settlement of Myrnohrad in the Pokrovskyi district of Donetsk region.
The community extends its sincere condolences to the father, wife, daughter, brother, sister, fellow villagers and comrades-in-arms of the fallen warrior. They emphasise that Ivan Lisnyi bravely fulfilled his military duty and became an example of loyalty to the oath and faithfulness to his people.
Residents are being called upon to keep in their hearts gratitude to the defender for his sacrifice and a bright memory of him, for by laying down his life for the freedom and fate of each person, he became an example of the highest expression of love for Ukraine.
