In Khodoriv in the Stryi district, a memorial plaque in honour of the fallen defender of Ukraine Oleh Duntsiv was unveiled and consecrated on the building of the State Fire and Rescue Post. It was in this unit that he served for 18 years, saving lives.
Oleh Duntsiv was born and lived in Khodoriv. He began his service at Fire and Rescue Post No. 46 in 2001. For his courage and selfless work, the rescuer was awarded the medal “For a Saved Life”.
In July 2024, Oleh Duntsiv joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and became a combat medic of the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade “Magura”. While carrying out a mission at the front, on 27 October 2024 he was killed near the settlement of Novoivanivka in the Sudzha district of Kursk region.
The memorial plaque on the building of the fire and rescue post is intended to commemorate the life path of Oleh Duntsiv, his many years of service as a rescuer and his role in the defence of Ukraine.
