Their native village of Kariv in the Belz community welcomes home on a shield Ukrainian defender Volodymyr Fedeyko. He was born on 9 May 1977, and in July 2024 he was called up for military service and took up arms in defence of Ukraine.
During his service, Volodymyr bravely carried out combat missions. On 18 September 2024, while on a combat mission near the settlement of Novohrodivka in Pokrovskyi district of Donetsk region, the soldier was killed. For a long time he was considered missing, while his family waited for news and hoped for his return home.
The fallen defender is survived by his sister Halyna and nieces and nephews, who had long awaited his return.
The burial of Volodymyr Fedeyko is scheduled for Friday, 25 September. At 10:30 the funeral cortege will depart from the mortuary in Lviv following the route: Lviv → Zhovkva → Rava-Ruska → Uhniv → Kariv. At approximately 12:30 it is planned to meet the fallen warrior at the entrance to the village of Kariv.
After the welcome, the cortege will proceed to the soldier’s family home, where relatives and close friends will be able to pay their last respects. The defender will then be taken to the church, where the funeral service will be held, after which the funeral procession will go to the cemetery, where Volodymyr Fedeyko will rest in his native soil.
Residents of the Belz community are asked to form a live guard of honour along the route and to see the defender off with flowers, the state flag and prayers.
