At the Lviv Regional State Administration, families of missing servicemen met with state bodies

An open meeting was held at the Lviv Regional State Administration between families of missing servicemen and representatives of state bodies. Relatives of the defenders were able to put questions directly to the relevant institutions and receive explanations regarding search efforts, investigations and social support.

The event was organised at the request of the public organisation “Free Everyone”. Taking part in the discussion were the Chief of Staff of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Taras Hren, the representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in the Lviv region, specialists from the Western Regional Centre of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region, the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in the Lviv region, the Lviv Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centre, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the Department for Veterans’ Policy of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

During the meeting, they discussed the progress of pre-trial investigations, the conduct of DNA examinations and facial identification, the formation of exchange lists, cooperation with international organisations, procedures for obtaining information from military units, as well as issues of social payments, pension provision and mechanisms for searching for prisoners of war and missing defenders.

“For families living in uncertainty, it is extremely important to be able to receive answers directly from all the responsible services. Such meetings make it possible not only to provide the necessary clarifications, but also to hear each story, record the problematic issues and work on resolving them within our remit. We will continue to do everything we can to ensure this dialogue remains regular, open and effective,” noted Chief of Staff of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Taras Hren.

The Lviv Regional State Administration stresses that such meetings are held on a regular basis so that families of missing servicemen have access to up-to-date information, professional advice and the coordinated work of all the state bodies and institutions involved.
