
In Lviv, a decision has been taken to install 12 memorial plaques in honour of fallen combatants who died defending Ukraine. The commemorative signs will be placed on the façades of 11 municipal educational institutions where the soldiers studied, as well as on the building of the condominium association ОСББ «Панча 8». The decision was supported at a meeting of the executive committee of Lviv City Council.
The city’s chief architect, Anton Kolomeitsev, stated that the plaques will be produced and installed according to the universal memorial plaque design approved in Lviv for honouring defenders who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Memorial plaques will be installed to the following fallen defenders:
- Dmytro Berezyn — on the building at 8 P. Pancha St (ОСББ «Панча»);
- Yurii Bereshchak — at the Lviv Law Gymnasium;
- Yulian Bozhenko — at Secondary Comprehensive School No. 9;
- Oleh Buchko — at the Lviv Gymnasium “Yevshan”;
- Oleksii Hubskyi — at Lyceum No. 81 named after Petro Sahaidachnyi of Lviv City Council;
- Vadym Derhachov — at Lyceum No. 45 of Lviv City Council;
- Orest Zakharko — at Lyceum No. 46 named after Viacheslav Chornovil of Lviv City Council;
- Artem Kirebko — in the town of Vynnyky, at the Comprehensive School “Berehynia” of the city of Lviv;
- Nazar Mykytynskyi — at Lyceum No. 38 of Lviv City Council;
- Oleh Sal — at Secondary Comprehensive School I–III degrees No. 49 of the city of Lviv;
- Ihor Kholiavka — at Secondary Comprehensive School No. 96 MKZh-1 of the city of Lviv;
- Oleh Shaidulin — at the “Lvivskyi” Lyceum of Lviv City Council.
The city has a special procedure in place for installing memorial plaques to the defenders of Ukraine. Under this procedure, commemorative signs may be placed, in particular, on the buildings of educational institutions where the soldier studied, or on the building in which he lived.
