A daughter of Hero of Ukraine Pavlo Ivanov, the first Ukrainian F-16 pilot, was born in Lviv.
Pavlo Ivanov, known as “Scratch”, was the first Ukrainian assault pilot to master the F-16 fighter jet. His wife Iryna gave birth to a girl weighing 3,000 g and measuring 51 cm.
Pavlo died on April 12, 2025 in an aerial battle over Sumy, holding back the enemy to the last. On the same day, he was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. The defender is eternally 26.
The couple awaited their child with great love. Pavlo dreamed of a daughter and together with Iryna chose a name for her — Yustynka.
The Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center mentioned that it was an honor for the team to assist in this birth, emphasizing: “the memory of the Hero has a tangible continuation — in his daughter”.
