A rescue operation is ongoing in Lviv following an overnight Russian missile attack. The most difficult situation is on Patona Street, where a five-story residential building sustained significant damage in the strike. People remain trapped under the rubble.
State Emergency Service personnel are continuously dismantling the destroyed structures and searching for residents. Local residents have also joined the response effort, helping rescuers clear the debris.
Using a special crane, emergency workers are evacuating victims from the damaged floors of the building. One man has already been freed from beneath the collapsed structures. He is receiving the necessary medical assistance.
The work of emergency rescue units is being complicated by fires that broke out at the impact sites.
The number of injured has risen to 26
Information about the consequences of the attack was updated throughout the search operation. Initially, four people were reported injured; the number later rose to 15, then 17, and subsequently to more than 20.
According to the latest published data:
- 26 people were injured in the missile strike;
- 15 victims were hospitalized;
- children are among the injured;
- one child is in hospital;
- one rescuer required medical assistance.
The search operation is continuing, as people may still be trapped under the rubble of the building.
Two educational institutions damaged in Lviv
Two educational institutions in the city were also damaged in the overnight attack. Municipal and emergency services are already working at the sites.
The most extensive damage was recorded at Lyceum No. 15. In the building:
- 140 windows were shattered;
- four doors were damaged;
- the roof was partially destroyed.
At Kindergarten No. 139, 21 windows were shattered and two doors were damaged. Despite the consequences of the shelling, the preschool continues to accept children. Duty groups have been organized for them.
Bus routes changed due to the closure of Vyhovskoho Street
Following the shelling and the closure of Vyhovskoho Street in Lviv, public transport routes were temporarily adjusted.
Buses No. 11, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 27, 48, and 51 are running along Kulparkivska Street, continuing via Symona Petliury and Kulchytskoi streets, before returning to their regular routes.
Rescuers, medical personnel, law enforcement officers, and municipal services continue to work at the sites of the Russian strikes.
