Lviv to bid farewell to serviceman Pavlo Antonenko

On Friday, 26 June 2026, a funeral service will be held in Lviv for serviceman Pavlo Antonenko. The service will begin at 14:00 in the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.

After the service, at approximately 14:30, a citywide farewell ceremony is planned on Rynok Square. The warrior will be laid to rest at the cemetery in the village of Solonka at around 14:45.

Pavlo Antonenko was born on 13 December 1984 and was killed on 18 June 2026. He studied at Secondary Comprehensive School No. 9 in Lviv and later obtained higher military education at the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Army Academy. After graduation, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and later worked in the field of logistics at private enterprises.

According to his family, Pavlo was open, honest and brave, distinguished by his straightforwardness, sense of responsibility and care for his loved ones, and had a deep love for his family. He was interested in the history of Ukraine and the world, loved motorbikes and travelling, read extensively and constantly broadened his horizons.

Pavlo Antonenko was a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. With the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, he once again took up the defence of Ukraine. As part of the 6th Rangers Regiment of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state in the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Northern Slobozhanskyi, Kursk and Southern Slobozhanskyi sectors.

For his service, Pavlo was awarded the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, 2nd and 3rd Class, the decoration of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine “Military Cross”, the honorary decoration “Will Decides” and other departmental awards.

Pavlo Antonenko is survived by his wife, son, mother, brother and sister-in-law, grandmother, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
