The ceremony will take place at 11:00 at the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and at 11:30, the city-wide farewell will begin at Rynok Square. The soldier will be buried at the veterans’ field No. 34-B of the Holoski Cemetery.
Rostyslav Gordieiev (06/07/2003 – 03/05/2026) was born in Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region. He studied at Lyceum No. 35 named after Valentine Sheiman. From a young age, he was interested in military affairs, dreaming of dedicating his life to defending his Motherland. His relatives describe him as a kind and compassionate person who was always ready to support others.
With the start of Russian full-scale aggression, Rostyslav fought for the integrity of the country as part of the 53rd Separate Brigade named after Volodymyr Monomakh. For his service, he was awarded medals by the President of Ukraine, including the “For Military Service to Ukraine” medal and the “War Veteran” medal. Unfortunately, he is survived by his father, sister, and other family members.
The city authorities urge the residents of Lviv and visitors to participate in the farewell and called for the cancellation of entertainment events on this day. More information can be found at city-adm.lviv.ua.
