
On Sunday, 4 October, a farewell ceremony will be held in Lviv for serviceman Ruslan Umrykhin, who gave his life defending Ukraine from the Russian occupiers. The Lviv City Council reported this.
The farewell ceremony is scheduled for 17:00 in the ceremonial hall on Mykolaychuka Street. After the farewell, the body of the fallen defender will be taken for cremation.
Ruslan Umrykhin (02.02.2000 — 01.10.2026) was born in the settlement of Zachepylivka in Kharkiv region. He studied at the municipal institution “Zachepylivskyi Lyceum” of the Zachepylivka Settlement Council of Berestynskyi District in Kharkiv region and at the Novokochubeivskyi Lyceum of the Skorokhodivka Settlement Council in Poltava region.
After finishing his studies, he worked at the limited liability company “JYSK Ukraine” and at the limited liability company “Nova Poshta”. According to his relatives, he was a cheerful, kind and caring person, very sociable and always smiling. He was especially devoted to his family and loved ones, was passionate about electronics and computer games, and enjoyed cooking.
In 2025, Ruslan took up arms to defend Ukraine from the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. He defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state in the Donetsk sector as part of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss” of the Ukrainian Army’s Ground Forces.
Ruslan Umrykhin is survived by his mother, brother, wife and other relatives.
