Farewell to twelve defenders who died in captivity begins in Lviv

The farewell began in the Garrison Church of Ss. Peter and Paul. All of the fallen defenders fought as part of the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade.

At 15:00, the farewell service will begin in the church. Then, at approximately 15:40, there will be a citywide ceremony on Rynok Square.

After the ceremony, the bodies will be transported to their home communities for burial. Three Lviv residents will be buried on Saturday in Lviv – details will be announced separately.

We urge residents and guests of the city to honour the memory of the fallen with dignity.

🕯 Vladyslav Bobrovskyi (24.06.1979 – 24.01.2024)

A resident of Lviv.

He studied at school No. 84 named after Blessed Josaphata Hordashevska. He later completed an accounting course. He worked as a manager at the private enterprise Galkotloservis Lviv. For some time, he also worked as a tram driver at the Lvivelectrotrans utility company. In 2021, he stood up to defend his homeland from the invasion of the Russian occupiers. He was awarded the Combatant Medal. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian invaders, he stood up to defend his homeland.

Nazariy Kovalyk (09.08.1996 – 24.01.2024)

A resident of Lviv.

He studied at school No. 86. He received his professional higher education at the Automobile and Road Professional College of Lviv Polytechnic National University. He worked as a police officer in the response platoon of the company No. 2 of the Security Police Department in Zhytomyr region. From 2015 to 2017, he took part in the anti-terrorist operation as a member of the 24th separate mechanised brigade named after King Danylo of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was awarded the state award of the President of Ukraine “For Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation”. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers, he stood up to defend his homeland.

Deuran Tailakov (13.05.1987 – 24.01.2024)

Deuran Tailakov was born in the city of Turkkul (Republic of Turkmenistan). As a child, he moved to Lviv with his parents. He studied at school No. 82. In civilian life, he worked as a paving master. In 2015, he took part in the anti-terrorist operation as a member of the Right Sector Ukrainian Volunteer Corps. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers, he stood up to defend his homeland.

Yaroslav Soboliev (21.08.1974 – 24.01.2024)

Yaroslav Soboliev was born in Lviv. He studied at school No. 63. During extracurricular activities, he studied the art of combat hopak. He became a carpenter and later mastered the military profession in Berdychiv. He lived most of his life in Yavoriv, Lviv region. He worked by profession. Since 2014, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. He served in the border troops and was a sniper. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian invaders, he stood up to defend his homeland.

Serhiy Levkiv (05.10.1992 – 24.01.2024)

Serhiy Levkiv was born in Kamianka-Buzka, Lviv region. He studied at the Kamianka-Buzka Hryhorii Tiutiunnyk Secondary School No. 2. Subsequently, he completed his higher education at Lviv Polytechnic National University. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers, he voluntarily came to the defence of his homeland.

Bohdan Dudiak (03.04.1997 – 24.01.2024)

Born in the village of Batiatychi, Lviv district, Lviv region. He studied at a secondary school in Batyatychi village. Subsequently, he received a vocational education at the Stavropigi Higher Vocational School in Lviv, specialising in car repair. He worked as a forklift driver at Continental Farmers Group, a limited liability company. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers, he voluntarily came to the defence of his homeland.

🕯 Ivan Fedeka (17.07.1988 – 24.01.2024)

Ivan Fedeka was born in Stebnyk, Lviv region. He studied at the Stebnyk Lyceum. He worked abroad. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers, he returned from abroad and stood up to defend his homeland.

🕯 Yaroslav Kryvanyo (02.06.1971 – 24.01.2024)

He was born in the village of Pidluby, Yavoriv district, Lviv region. He went to school in Pidluby village. Later, he received a degree in mechanical assembly at Lviv Secondary Vocational School No. 25. He worked as a trucker for a logistics company in Europe. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers, he voluntarily returned from abroad and stood up to defend his homeland.

🕯 Ivan Ohapskyi (14.03.1967 – 24.01.2024)

Ivan was born in Novyi Rozdil, Lviv region. He studied at Novyi Rozdil School No. 4. He received a vocational education as a car mechanic. He worked at the state enterprise DMZ Karpaty. Since 2015, he has participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation as a member of the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after King Danylo of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian invaders, he stood up to defend his homeland.

🕯 Oleh Kuzma (09.02.1988 – 24.01.2024)

Born in Shchyrets, Lviv district, Lviv region. At school, he attended boxing and drawing classes. He worked as a construction worker, performing complex high-altitude work that required great endurance and courage. In 2015, he took part in the anti-terrorist operation as a member of the 24th separate mechanised brigade named after King Danylo of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers, he again stood up to defend his homeland.

Nazar Petrykiv (23.04.1992 – 24.01.2024)

Born in the village of Stankiv, Stryi district, Lviv region. He studied at Stankiv school. Subsequently, he graduated with a degree in Agricultural Electrification from Stryi State Agricultural College and a degree in Agricultural Energy from Lviv National Agrarian University. He worked as a metrology engineer at the Stryi subdivision of the Western Territorial Network Maintenance Department of Lvivgaz Gas Distribution System Operator. Without hesitation, he applied to the territorial centre for recruitment and social support, signed up as a volunteer and defended his homeland.

Mykola Trukhan (15.09.1971 – 24.01.2024)

Mykola Trukhan was born in the village of Dubliany, Sambir district, Lviv region. He studied at Dubliany secondary school. Later, he studied at the Sambir Cultural and Educational School. He worked as the director of the People’s House in the village of Dubliany-2, Sambir district. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers, he was mobilised and served in a military unit stationed in Yavoriv.
