Following the overnight missile strike on Ukraine, emergency rescue operations are continuing in Lviv and the Dnipropetrovsk region, with reports that people may still be trapped under the rubble. This was reported by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ivan Vyhivskyi.
According to him, the night-time attack claimed the lives of 8 people and injured more than 50. Russian missiles struck residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, and children are among the victims.
In the Kryvyi Rih district, there was a direct hit on a private house where a large family lived. Six people were killed, including three children: a 6-year-old girl and boys aged 11 and 17. At least 8 people were injured, including two children. There is preliminary information about several people missing, and work is under way to identify the recovered body fragments.
In the Kyiv region, one family of five was affected. Thanks to the efforts of rescuers, three people were freed from under the rubble and are receiving the necessary assistance. In Lviv, the strike caused extensive damage to blocks of flats; dozens of people were injured, including children, and a police officer and a rescuer were hurt. Floor slabs between storeys were destroyed, and high-rise equipment has been deployed to evacuate residents; 39 people have already been rescued.
At the strike site in Lviv, a mobile service centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is operating, where citizens can promptly restore lost documents. In Kyiv, the strike left one person dead and two injured; rescuers have extinguished fires at a market and in a garage cooperative. Investigators from the National Police are documenting the consequences of yet another crime against the civilian population.

The units of the Interior Ministry system — rescuers, investigators, bomb disposal experts, patrol officers, psychologists, medics, dog handlers, service departments — are always there. And every time they prove that professionalism, coordination and dedication to their work are stronger than terror», said the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ivan Vyhivskyi.
