In Lviv, a remembrance evening was held at the Warrior’s House for Heroes’ Day

At the Warrior’s House in Lviv on 22 May a remembrance evening entitled “Meeting of the Worthy” was held to mark Heroes’ Day, with the participation of veterans, families of the fallen, representatives of the authorities and public organisations.

At the start of the event, those present honoured the memory of all those who have fallen in the Russian-Ukrainian war with a minute of silence, sang the State Anthem of Ukraine and prayed.

The Chief of Staff of the Lviv Regional Council, Yaroslav Hasiak, stressed that on Heroes’ Day people remember those who have proved their love for Ukraine through their actions, who stood up to defend it, and many of whom gave their lives. He thanked the participants for gathering at the Warrior’s House, supporting one another and preserving the memory of the fallen.

During the evening, the stories were told of 38 Heroes who have stood up to defend Ukraine since 2014. Participants recalled their feat, bravery, courage and love for their native land.

The event also featured performances of patriotic songs, poetry readings and the sharing of memories of male and female defenders, voiced by their relatives and comrades-in-arms.
