In Lviv, a new city programme has begun, aimed at adapting housing for disabled veterans. Veterans can receive up to 400,000 UAH to equip their homes. A special commission has already inspected the homes of six veterans to determine the necessary work for their convenience.
One of the first veterans visited by the commission was Artur Kyryeyev. He shared that he learned about the programme from a mayoral publication and immediately decided to participate. Artur plans to make his kitchen accessible and also remodel the bathroom.
According to Neli Korneyeva, Head of the Department of Social Support for Ukrainian Defenders, the city has already received eight requests and plans to continue working on adapting housing for individuals with I and II group disabilities who have mobility restrictions. The programme is implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Red Cross and the Lviv City Territorial Community.
Veterans can receive one-time compensation, with cost coverage including expenses for works or services to adapt housing according to their individual needs. Applications must be submitted to the Social Protection Department before the commencement of repair works.
For more detailed information, veterans can contact the city social support service at 1620, where they will receive the necessary assistance and consultations.
