Novoiavorivsk honours fallen defenders who would have been celebrating their birthdays in July

In Novoiavorivsk and the surrounding villages of the Yavoriv district, people are being called to remember in prayer the servicemen who were killed at the front and who would have been celebrating their birthdays in July, as well as those who fell in battle in this very month in different years of the full-scale war.

Among the fallen soldiers born in July, they remember a resident of Novoiavorivsk, a serviceman of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ivan Khabak. He would have turned 48 on 4 July. He was killed on 21 May 2023 while carrying out a combat mission in the Kupiansk sector.

They also honour the memory of a Novoiavorivsk resident, Defender of Ukraine Ivan Balukh, who would have turned 49 on 6 July. He was killed on 23 July 2024 while carrying out a combat mission in Donetsk region.

A Novoiavorivsk resident, Defender of Ukraine Pavlo Martynyk would have been marking his 37th birthday on 10 July. He was killed on 31 October 2025 in the Zaporizhzhia sector while carrying out a combat mission.

The list also includes a volunteer fighter of the Azov unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, Novoiavorivsk resident Pavlo Kindrat. He would have turned 23 on 10 July. He was killed on 14 May 2026 while carrying out a combat mission in the Donetsk sector.

Their loving son and brother, Novoiavorivsk resident Bohdan Turk, is remembered in connection with his birthday on 21 July — he would have turned 34. He was killed on 2 August 2022 while defending Ukraine in Donetsk region.

A Novoiavorivsk resident, a serviceman of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vitalii Yavorskyi would have been marking his 48th birthday on 24 July. He was killed on 15 April 2024 as a result of a massive artillery strike on a boat as it was leaving the left bank of the Dnipro.

A caring father and husband, Defender of Ukraine Hennadii Samoilenko is also remembered in July: on the 24th he would have turned 53. He was killed on 19 August 2022 in the combat zone in Donetsk region.

A resident of the village of Starychi, a fighter of the 28th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign, Lieutenant Volodymyr Radchenko would have been celebrating his 30th birthday on 26 July. He was killed on 20 April 2022 in Kherson region.

Separately, the community remembers defenders who were killed in July in different years. Among them is a resident of Novoiavorivsk, Defender of Ukraine Volodymyr Rosa, whose life was tragically cut short on 1 July 2024 in Mykolaiv region.

A Novoiavorivsk resident, Territorial Defence fighter Serhii Sidanich was killed on 3 July 2023 during an artillery strike in Kharkiv region.

A resident of the village of Starychi, junior sergeant of the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after King Danylo, Yurii Kostiv was killed on 11 July 2014 near Zelenopillia, at the age of 25.

A Novoiavorivsk resident, a soldier of the same 24th Brigade named after King Danylo, Taras Mysyk was also killed on 11 July 2014 near Zelenopillia in Luhansk region. He will forever remain 30 years old.

Volunteer, Defender of Ukraine Vitalii Veselov was killed on 11 July 2025 in Kharkiv region while carrying out a combat mission.

A native of the village of Muzhylovychi, Defender of Ukraine Andrii Demus was killed on 12 July 2024 while carrying out a combat mission in Donetsk region.

A resident of the village of Ternovytsia, fighter of the 24th Division Hryhorii Zakhidnyi was killed on 18 July 2023 during fighting in Zaporizhzhia region.

A Novoiavorivsk resident, volunteer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, junior lieutenant Andrii Danyliv was killed on 25 July 2023 while carrying out combat missions near Bakhmut.

Defender of Ukraine, Novoiavorivsk resident Yurii Kostelnyi was killed on 25 July 2022 in Mykolaiv region, at the age of 39.

A Novoiavorivsk resident, fighter of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade “Azov” Oleh Antoshko was killed on 29 July 2023 while carrying out a combat mission in Donetsk region.

The community stresses that, for the sake of the blessed memory of all the fallen defenders, Ukrainians must preserve their faith in Victory and work on building a strong, free Ukraine.
