On Friday, Lviv will say goodbye to five defenders

Tomorrow, August 4, Lviv will say goodbye to five defenders. Serhiy Zaitsev, Ihor Demchuk, Serhiy Tsybochkin, Vitaly Chekhovsky, Volodymyr Tuchapsky died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The mayor’s office calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony for servicemen and to refrain from entertaining events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral of Serhii Tsybochkin, Vitaly Chekhovsky and Volodymyr Tuchapsky will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square.

The funeral service of Serhiy Zaitsev and Igor Demchuk will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 2:30 p.m. a city farewell ceremony will be held on Rynok Square.

The soldiers will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical references of defenders

 

Serhiy Zaitsev (04/09/1993-08/02/2023) Born in the city of Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region.

Graduated from the National Academy of Internal Affairs, majoring in “Jurisprudence”.

During 2013-2015, he served in the ranks of the 2nd Separate Galician Brigade of the Western Operational Territorial Unit of the National Guard of Ukraine. Since 2015, he has held positions from senior rifleman to senior instructor, and later – commander of the 1st combat group of the 1st special purpose group of a separate special purpose unit.

Senior lieutenant. Since 2014, he has repeatedly performed combat missions to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state in the eastern direction. For military skill and heroism, he was awarded the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree, as well as a personal weapon.

Serhiy Zaitsev is survived by his wife.

 

Ihor Demchuk (June 24, 1987-August 2, 2023) was born in the village of Karyshkiv, Vinnytsia region.

Graduated from the National Academy of Internal Affairs, majoring in Law. Subsequently, he received an education at the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine, majoring in “Management”.

In 2010, he began his military career in the Western Territorial Department of the National Guard of Ukraine, where he worked for 13 years. He held the positions from the rifleman of the rifle battalion to the commander of the 1st special purpose group of a separate special purpose unit. During his service, he received the military rank of “major”.

Since 2014, he has repeatedly performed combat missions to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state. For his conscientious performance of military duty, he was awarded the Order of Courage of the 3rd degree and a personal weapon.

Igor Demchuk is survived by his wife and two sons.

 

Serhiy Tsybochkin (July 9, 1972-July 27, 2023) from Lviv.

Studied at Lyceum No. 45 of the Lviv City Council. After completing his studies, he completed his military service in Mykolaiv in the ranks of the anti-aircraft defense forces. In 1998, he graduated from the Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, majoring in “Jurisprudence”.

For a large part of his life, he worked in managerial positions in the investigative department of the former Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Lviv region, engaged in the investigation of crimes in the field of official and economic activity. During his service, he earned the rank of “lieutenant colonel”.

In his free time, he researched the history of Lviv, which he admired, actively engaged in mountain tourism and aikido. He compiled his own genealogical tree on his own.

Since 2017, he worked as the head of the security service at sugar production at one of the enterprises in Khmelnytskyi.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, he became a member of the 501st separate battalion of the marines of the 36th separate brigade of the marines named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilinskyi of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend the Motherland. Performed combat missions in the southern and eastern directions. According to Serhii Tsybochkin, he is “going to war to help Ukraine win Victory.”

The Hero is survived by his wife, son and sister.

 

Vitaly Chekhovskyi (20.08.1984-30.07.2023) native of Lviv.

He studied at Secondary Secondary School of Grades I-III No. 91 of Lviv. Received higher education at the former Lviv Institute of Banking.

After completing his studies, he worked in the field of sales and construction, and later lived in the Kingdom of Belgium for a certain period. He was fond of cars.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he volunteered to defend the Motherland from the invaders. Performed combat missions to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state in the ranks of the 117th separate mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought against the invaders in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Vitaly Chekhovsky was survived by his father and brother.

 

Volodymyr Tuchapskyi (23.08.1977-30.07.2023) from Lviv.

He studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 27 of the city of Lviv named after the hero of the Heavenly Hundred, Yury Verbytskyi. He graduated from the Secondary Vocational School No. 26 (today – the State Educational Institution “Lviv Higher Vocational School of Information and Computer Technologies”), where he acquired the profession of “electrical fitter repairing electrical equipment”.

After completing his studies, he served in the Airborne Assault Forces.

He worked as an electrician at the Private Joint-Stock Company “Lviv Oil Plant”. In his free time, he liked to travel around Ukraine with his family, was fond of extreme sports, in particular, skydiving.

From the first days of the full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation stood up to protect the Motherland from the Russian invaders. Performed combat missions as part of the 116th separate mechanized brigade of the 10th Army Corps of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Tuchapsky is survived by his mother, wife, two daughters, a sister and a nephew.iz-piatma-zakhysnykamy
