On Monday, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Roman Tykh

On Monday, June 12, Lviv will say goodbye to Hero Roman Tykh, who died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremony and to refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:30 a city farewell ceremony will take place on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Biographical reference of the Hero

Roman Tykhy (15.06.1975-08.06.2023) was born in the urban-type village of Novi Strilyshche, Lviv region. Later, the family moved to the Kherson region.

He studied at the Antonivska comprehensive school of grades I-III (today it is the Antonivska branch of the Support Institution “Academic Lyceum” of the Skadovsk City Council). Graduated from preparatory courses on operation of gas equipment.

After completing his studies, he served in the Marine Corps in Sevastopol. In peacetime, he lived with his family in Skadovsk, Kherson region, and worked as a gas equipment fitter. He was fond of football.

After the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the family moved to Lviv. Here, Roman Tykhy joined the 93rd separate mechanized brigade “Kholodniy Yar” of the operational command “East” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Hero is survived by his wife, four children and a brother.
