The Radekhiv community has reported the death in battle for Ukraine of Volodymyr Petrovych Bratash, a resident of the village of Kuty. He was a machine gunner in the 2nd mechanised squad of the 1st mechanised platoon of the 2nd mechanised company of the 1st mechanised battalion.
According to the community, the serviceman, who had sworn the Military Oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people, bravely carried out his combat mission and on 12 June 2026 was killed in action fighting for Ukraine’s freedom and independence.
On behalf of the entire community, the Radekhiv City Council has extended its sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms of the fallen warrior and called on everyone to honour his memory in prayer.
The cortege bearing the body of the fallen defender will be met on 29 August 2026 at 12:00. Residents of Radekhiv are asked to gather by the Heavenly Hundred memorial stele and along Tarnavskoho Street to form a guard of honour and pay their last respects to the Hero.
After the funeral procession arrives, the cortege will proceed to the Church of St Nicholas in Radekhiv, where the funeral service for Volodymyr Bratash will take place immediately.
