A memorial plaque to Viktor Chekh unveiled in Sadky in the Khodoriv community

In the village of Sadky in the Khodoriv community in the Stryi district, a memorial plaque in honour of the fallen soldier Viktor Chekh has been unveiled on the facade of the local school. His relatives, comrades-in-arms, clergy and village residents came to the commemoration ceremony.

Viktor Chekh was a native of Sadky. He joined the defence of Ukraine in 2015, became a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation and took part in combat operations in the Luhansk region, in particular in the areas of the towns of Shchastia and Krymske.

At the beginning of 2023, he once again returned to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a senior soldier in the 47th Separate Artillery Brigade, carrying out tasks to defend first Zaporizhzhia, and later Sumy regions.

Viktor Chekh was killed on 9 March 2025 near the settlement of Sadky in Sumy region. He was 48 years old. After his death, the soldier was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd class.

Those present at the unveiling of the memorial plaque remembered the fallen defender and expressed their condolences to his family.
