On 10 August 2026, the body of defender Vasyl Oliinyk, born in 1974, will be brought to the village of Sebechiv of the Belz City Territorial Community. The soldier returns to his native land forever after his death, which was connected with the performance of his official duties.
According to the community, Vasyl Bohdanovych Oliinyk was called up for military service on 9 July 2025 by the Sheptytskyi District Territorial Centre for Recruitment and Social Support. He served as a battery mechanic in the battery repair and charging section of the special works platoon of the 1st repair company of military unit A5213. The serviceman conscientiously fulfilled his duty, defending Ukraine, its freedom and independence.
On 4 August 2026, Vasyl Oliinyk died in the area of the settlement of Marivka in the Synelnykove district of Dnipropetrovsk region. The community notes that his death was directly connected with the performance of his official duties.
The procedure for receiving and burying the serviceman has been announced. At 12:30 the departure from the mortuary will take place, and at approximately 14:00 the coffin with the defender's body is scheduled to be received at the entrance to the village of Sebechiv. The warrior will then be accompanied by a living corridor of honour to the church, where the funeral service will be held, after which he will be buried in the local cemetery.
The Belz City Territorial Community calls on residents to take part in receiving and accompanying the fallen defender on his final journey, as an expression of respect for his service and sacrifice. Condolences and support in this time of loss are extended to the family and friends of Vasyl Bohdanovych.
