In the village of Rulevo they will bid farewell to Ukraine’s defender Volodymyr Dan’o, who, after a lengthy search, was identified through DNA examination and officially declared dead.
Dan’o Volodymyr Volodymyrovych was born on 22 June 1988 in Rulevo. He studied at the Cholhyn Gymnasium and later continued his education at the Novoyavorivsk VPU. After qualifying, he worked at various enterprises, including TzOV «Yevroshpon» and TzOV «Kormotech».
According to his loved ones, Volodymyr was kind, sincere and hard-working, and was respected by his friends, colleagues and fellow villagers. Having been orphaned at an early age, he found support in his godmother Maria, who became the closest person to him.
On 14 July 2024 Volodymyr was mobilised into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On 18 September 2024, while on a combat mission, he went missing. In September 2026 the investigative authorities, relying on the results of DNA identification, officially recognised him as deceased.
In mourning for Volodymyr are his godmother Maria and his extended family.
A prayer gathering with the defender will take place on 16 September at 12:00 at the entrance to the village of Rulevo. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 in the Church of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessaloniki (OCU) in Rulevo. The soldier will be laid to rest in the local cemetery.
