Honoring the Memory of Policeman Roman Rushchyshyn

In the village of Soposhyn, Lviv district, a memorial plaque was installed in honor of the fallen policeman Roman Rushchyshyn.

The memory of Senior Sergeant of Police Roman Rushchyshyn was honored by his colleagues, family, friends, and fellow villagers. He joined the National Police of Ukraine in 2018 and from 2019 served in the special purpose patrol police battalion ‘Lviv’. He died on March 7, 2022, in the Luhansk region, defending Ukraine’s independence. He is survived by his mother, wife, and three children.

“The death of Roman is a heavy loss for the family, for our community, and for the police of Lviv region. By unveiling this memorial plaque today, we once again thank Roman and all those who have fallen in battles for Ukraine, both men and women, for this deed. We honor the memory of the new Heroes of Ukraine and bow low for their courage and heroism, for stopping the enemy with the cost of their lives. The wound that remains in the heart of everyone who knew Roman will never heal, and we believe that even from the heavens he will defend Ukraine and protect each of us”, addressed the attendees the head of Police Department No. 2 of Lviv Regional Police Department No. 1, Police Lieutenant Colonel Denys Haidu.
