For more than a year, defender Ihor Stronchak from the village of Oriv was considered missing. It has now become known that the warrior was killed, and he returns to his home community “on a shield”.
The body of the fallen will be brought back on 1 October. It is noted that at 12:00 a funeral cortege will be met at the Heroes’ Crossroads, after which it will proceed to Oriv.
Farewell to Ihor Stronchak and the parastas are planned to take place in his family home. The organisers will announce the exact time of the funeral additionally.
His loved ones believed until the very end that Ihor was alive: his portrait was placed on the Wall of Hope in the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Oriv. However, the identification carried out confirmed the soldier’s death.
