On Wednesday, Lviv will say goodbye to three Heroes who died defending Ukraine

Tomorrow, February 8, Lviv will say goodbye to three more Heroes. Oleg Muzhkevich, Valery Dianov, Bohdan Romanchuk died defending Ukraine from the Russian invaders. The City Hall calls on Lviv residents and guests to join the city’s farewell ceremonies and refrain from entertainment events and celebrations during this time.

The funeral of Oleg Muzhkevych and Valery Dianov will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 11:40 a.m. – a city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square. Heroes will be buried at the Lychakiv cemetery.

Bohdan Romanchuk’s funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. App. Peter and Paul, at 2:40 p.m. – city farewell ceremony on Rynok Square. The Hero will be buried in his native village in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

Biographical references of Heroes

Oleg Muzhkevich (January 13, 2002-January 30, 2023) from Lviv.
He studied at Secondary Secondary School No. 72, later graduated from the Municipal Institution of the Lviv Regional Council “Lviv Lyceum with Enhanced Military and Physical Training named after Heroes of Krut”. He was educated at the Faculty of Economics of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

In his free time, he led an active lifestyle: he was engaged in running, “workout”, he was fond of mountain tourism.

In 2020, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he fought with the occupiers in the ranks of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oleg Muzhkevich is survived by two brothers, two sisters and a girlfriend.

Valery Dianov (14.08.1978-31.01.2023) native of Lviv.
Studied at secondary comprehensive school of grades I-III No. 86. In 1996, he graduated from Vocational and Technical School No. 53 of the city of Lviv, majoring in “locksmith-repairman”. After completing his studies, he served in the army.

Worked in the construction industry, previously held a position in the Limited Liability Company “Window Systems”.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he volunteered to join the ranks of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Black Zaporozhians of the operational command “North” of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought with the invaders in the eastern direction.

Valery Dianov is survived by his mother, wife and daughter.

Bohdan Romanchuk (14.05.1989-07.12.2022) A native of Potik village, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
He studied at the Rohatyn Lyceum “Volodymyr Veliky Gymnasium” of the Rohatyn City Council of the Ivano-Frankivsk Region. He graduated from the Dnipro National University of Railway Transport named after academician Vsevolod Lazaryan with a degree in mechanical engineering.

In peacetime, he worked as an assistant to the chief in the Detached Subdivision “Wagon Depot Klepariv” of the State Territorial and Industry Association “Lviv Railway”.

He was the first leader of the “Blessing” youth community at the Church of Saints Volodymyr and Olga in Lviv, a member of the “New Culture” mission team.

Candidate for master of sports of Ukraine in shooting. He was fond of photography and videography and mountain tourism. Together with his brother, he dreamed of opening his own workshop “Teslya”.

Performed combat tasks in the area of anti-terrorist operation as part of the 8th separate battalion of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army “Aratta”.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, he served in the ranks of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Reserve Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Bohdan Romanchuk is survived by his pregnant wife, parents, brother, grandmother, godmother, nephews and goddaughter.
