On 24 August, Ukraine’s Independence Day, a ceremony was held at the Sheptytskyi District Military Administration to present posthumous honours to the families of fallen Defenders. The awards were presented by the head of the administration, Andrii Diachenko.
In accordance with the Decrees of the President of Ukraine, the Order “For Courage” II class was awarded to Pavlo Lozinskyi. The Order “For Courage” III class was posthumously awarded to:
- Serhii Voroshyk;
- Mykola Yerokhin;
- Valentyn Korol;
- Yurii Kaniuk;
- Volodymyr Bahlai;
- Volodymyr Hulych.
According to the orders of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the honorary breast badge “Cross of the Brave” was awarded to Dmytro Riaboshapka, and the honorary breast badge “Combatant’s Cross” to Serhii Voroshyk.
By the distinctions of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Volodymyr Ivanevych was recognised with the medal “Missile Forces and Artillery Cross”, and Yurii Hentosh was awarded the “Knight’s Cross” medal.
During the ceremony, it was emphasised that the memory of every fallen Defender will remain in the hearts of the community’s residents and of all Ukraine.
