VAZ crashes into a tree in Lviv region – three people injured, one killed, police establishing circumstances
The traffic accident occurred on 3 November at 02.50 a.m. on the Kamianka-Buzka-Zhovkva road in the village of Verny, Lviv district.
Law enforcement officials have preliminarily established that the driver of a VAZ car, a 21-year-old local resident, lost control of the vehicle, driving it off the roadway and into a tree. The driver was injured and hospitalised.
Two passengers aged 20 and 29 were also injured in the accident and taken to hospital. A 21-year-old resident of Lviv district died on the spot.
Investigators of the Transport Crimes Investigation Department of the Lviv Regional Police opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with or without deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
Police are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
