On August 19, 2026, Vasyl Vasylovych Kovalchuk, born on January 4, 1980, a resident of Sokal, passed away.
Vasyl Kovalchuk was born in the village of Rozzhaliv in Lviv region. He attended and graduated from the local school and later worked in various jobs.
He was married and had two sons, Vadym and Roman.
In 2023, Vasyl Kovalchuk was called up for military service. He served as a radiotelephone operator with military unit T4741 and took part in combat operations near Kramatorsk.
In 2025, the serviceman became seriously ill. Unfortunately, he was unable to overcome the severe illness. Vasyl Kovalchuk died on August 19, 2026.
He is mourned by:
- his mother Olha;
- his sister Vira and her family;
- his brother Roman and his family;
- his sons Vadym and Roman.
The funeral of Vasyl Kovalchuk will take place on August 24 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
