Oleksandr Trubakov Killed in Donetsk Region to Be Laid to Rest in Sokal Community on September 4

The Sokal area is once again in mourning. The family has received official confirmation of the death of Ukrainian defender Oleksandr Hryhorovych Trubakov, who had been considered missing in action for a long period.

Oleksandr Trubakov was born on November 8, 1975, in Dnipropetrovsk, now known as Dnipro, to Hryhorii and Svitlana. Later, the family moved to the town of Kivertsi, where Oleksandr spent his childhood and youth together with his brother Oleh.

In 1992, he graduated from Kivertsi Secondary School No. 4. He later enrolled at the Shatsk Forestry Technical College.

After completing his studies, Oleksandr worked for some time at the Kivertsi inter-farm forestry enterprise. He later worked as a records clerk at Druzhba LLC.

A significant part of his working life was connected with Potorytsia Secondary School, where he served as a facilities manager for 14 years. Before the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, he worked in construction as a facade specialist.

Oleksandr Trubakov’s Family

In 1997, Oleksandr married his beloved wife Olha. The couple spent 26 years together. They raised two sons, Vladyslav and Maksym.

The birth of his granddaughters, Zlata and Miia-Mariia, became a special source of happiness for him.

Military Service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Oleksandr Trubakov was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine on August 30, 2022.

On November 8, 2022, his birthday, he suffered a shrapnel wound to his arm. He underwent treatment in the city of Kamianske. After recovering, Oleksandr returned to the front to rejoin his fellow soldiers.

Oleksandr Trubakov served as:

  • a gunner of the 2nd Air Assault Platoon;
  • 7th Air Assault Company;
  • 3rd Air Assault Battalion;
  • Military Unit A0224.

On March 14, 2023, Oleksandr was killed while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Region.

For three and a half years, his relatives continued to wait for him because he had been officially listed as missing in action. Throughout that period, the family held on to the hope that he would return home.

Oleksandr is survived by his mother Svitlana, his wife Olha, his son Vladyslav and daughter-in-law Iryna, his son Maksym, his granddaughters Zlata and Miia-Mariia, his brother Oleh and his family, his mother-in-law Olesia, other relatives and the entire grieving family.

To those closest to him, Oleksandr Trubakov was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. To Ukraine, he was a soldier who stood in defense of his country during one of the most difficult periods in its history.

Farewell Ceremony for Oleksandr Trubakov

On September 4 at 12:00, the body of Ukrainian defender Oleksandr Trubakov will be received near the Church of Saints Peter and Paul.

The funeral procession will then travel to the family home in the village of Potorytsia. A memorial prayer service will be held immediately after arrival, followed by the funeral ceremony.

Oleksandr Trubakov will be laid to rest at the local cemetery.
