Sad news has reached the Sokal community. Ruslan Olehovych Kosynskyi, a soldier and resident of the village of Teliazh, was killed while carrying out a combat mission.
The serviceman died on January 19, 2025, in the settlement of Mykolaievo-Darino, Sudzha District, Kursk Region. He remained faithful to his military oath and fulfilled his duty to Ukraine.
Until May 18, 2026, Ruslan Kosynskyi had been considered missing in action. Later, the results of a DNA examination confirmed his death.
Ruslan Kosynskyi’s Life Path
Ruslan Kosynskyi was born on December 14, 1983, in the city of Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk Region. He received his basic secondary education at the school in the village of Mykolaivka, Popasna District, and later continued his studies at Sievierodonetsk Technical College.
After the beginning of the full-scale invasion, in June 2022, Ruslan and his mother were forced to leave their home. First, they moved to the village of Zabuzhzhia, and later settled in the village of Teliazh.
Service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Ruslan Kosynskyi was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine on January 29, 2024. He served in military unit A4689.
The Sokal City Council expressed sincere condolences to the fallen soldier’s mother, Svitlana Viktorivna, as well as to his relatives, friends, and fellow soldiers.
Bright, brave, and genuine — this is how Ruslan Kosynskyi will forever remain in the memory of everyone who knew him.
