In Stryi, the death of serviceman Ruslan Hulchevskyi, call sign “Richie”, born in 1971, has been confirmed. The senior rifleman-operator of a mechanised squad went missing in action after a battle near the village of Dibrova in the Kreminna district of Luhansk region in 2023. His identity was established through DNA analysis.
Ruslan Hulchevskyi was born and lived in Stryi. He studied at Stryi School No. 1 and the Stryi Higher Art Vocational School. After completing his studies, he worked in furniture manufacturing and was also employed at the Stryi Local History Museum “Verkhovyna”.
He was called up for military service in December 2022. While carrying out a combat mission in Luhansk region, the soldier went missing in action, and later a DNA examination was conducted, which confirmed his death.
The Stryi City Council reported the loss of the defender and expressed condolences to the sons, brothers, and all the relatives and loved ones of Ruslan Hulchevskyi, emphasising that his memory will be eternal.
