On 30 August 2026, a solemn yet mournful event took place at the Sulymaiv General Secondary Education Institution of the Kulykiv community in Lviv district – the consecration of memorial plaques in honour of the fallen soldiers who had studied at this school. This was reported by the Kulykiv settlement council of Lviv district.
The memorial plaques were installed on the walls of their alma mater as a sign of gratitude and respect for the defenders who gave their lives for Ukraine, its freedom and independence. The post stresses that former pupils of the Sulymaiv General Secondary School once walked these corridors, sat at these desks and dreamed of the future, and now their names are inscribed in the history of the village, the school and the state.
The community emphasises that the memorial signs are intended to serve as a daily reminder to pupils and adults of the high price being paid for Ukrainian freedom, and to help new generations remember their Heroes and understand the significance of their sacrifice.
Special words of thanks were addressed to the families of the fallen defenders – for raising the sons, husbands, fathers and brothers who stood up to defend Ukraine. The address conveys words of respect for their memory and underlines that the feat of the fallen soldiers will live on as long as they are remembered.
