On Tuesday, 29 September, the body of warrior Mykhailo Havrylchyn, who gave his life defending the territorial integrity and freedom of Ukraine, will be brought back to his parents’ home in his native village of Tartak. The defender served conscientiously in the Armed Forces and remained faithful to his oath until his last day.
Residents of the Dobrotvir community are being urged to join the funeral procession and with dignity accompany the warrior on his final journey. The farewell to the defender will begin with a series of memorial services and stops of the funeral cortege.
The route of the cortege with the body of Mykhailo Havrylchyn is planned as follows:
- 11:15 – memorial service in the village of Zhovtantsi near the Church of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary (OCU);
- 11:45 – Gospel reading near the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (OCU) in the town of Kamianka-Buzka;
- 11:55 – Gospel reading near the Church of St Nicholas in the town of Kamianka-Buzka;
- 12:10 – Gospel reading near the Church of St George in the village of Ruda Siletska;
- 12:20 – the cortege with the warrior’s body enters the village of Tartak, after which a funeral procession will proceed to the defender’s family home, where a memorial service will be held;
- after the memorial service, the cortege will head to the Church of the Beheading of the Honourable Head of John the Baptist in the village of Silets for a requiem prayer;
- the warrior will be buried at the local cemetery in the village of Silets.
Transport has been arranged for those who wish to join the farewell. At 11:30 a bus will depart from the settlement of Dobrotvir (14 Ivana Franka Street, Department of Education) to the village of Tartak, where the funeral service will take place. A separate bus will also be provided for residents of the village of Neznanovo, departing at 11:30.
In their notice, the community extends sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mykhailo Havrylchyn and emphasises that they share in this heavy loss. As a sign of mourning for the fallen defender, 28–29 September have been declared days of mourning in the Dobrotvir community.
