In Truskavets the remains of soldier Andriy Dobronovskyi were laid to rest

On 20 August in Truskavets, a rite of reburial was held for fragments of the mortal remains of Andriy Dobronovskyi, a soldier who defended Ukraine and had been considered missing for nine months. The ceremony was conducted by priests in accordance with church canons.

Andriy Dobronovskyi went missing in June 2025 at the age of 31, and until March 2026 he was searched for as a missing person. After a DNA examination, the soldier was officially declared dead. In April, his family and the Truskavets community bade farewell to him, and his ashes were buried in the avenue of honourable burials at Truskavets cemetery alongside other fallen defenders from the area.

Recently, the family received an additional notification: based on DNA evidence, further fragments of Andriy’s remains had been found. This became the reason for holding a separate rite of reburial at the existing burial site.

Andriy Dobronovskyi was born on 22 February 1994 in Truskavets and studied at Secondary School No. 3. After finishing school, he worked as a rescuer in the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. In 2024 he was mobilised into the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served as an assistant grenadier in a rifle battalion of military unit A3002. In June 2025 he was killed near Pokrovsk.

The soldier’s death was a grievous loss for his loved ones: his mother lost her only son, his wife her husband, and his children their father. Eternal memory to Andriy Dobronovskyi.
