He could still live and live, enjoy life, build his native country, enjoy his descendants, help raise his brothers and sisters.
He could continue to be a comfort to his mother, a good friend to everyone he was friends with, he could create, enjoy life and continue to leave good marks on the earth, as he had done until now. But the damned war took him away from us, cutting short his young life in the prime of his life, at the age of 30.
Volodymyr Komoniak from Truskavets is one of those people about whom you want to say only good things, because he really deserves them. It is no surprise that the entire community of Truskavets came out to meet his body to mourn with his mother, brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors to share their sadness, grief and pain.
Today, on such a clear, sunny day, Volodymyr Komoniak returned to his native Truskavets forever. He returned on a shield, he returned as a Hero. How we all wish he had returned alive! But an enemy bullet killed him in a battle near the village of Vodiane in Donetsk Oblast.
The soldier-Hero was first met at the Crossroads of Heroes, where five priests held a memorial service. The mourning procession arrived in Truskavets, at the Church of the Holy Prophet Elijah, where a parastas will be held at 19.00 today.
The funeral will be held tomorrow, April 11, at 13.30.
Eternal memory to you, warrior-hero Volodymyr! You will forever remain in our hearts, in our memory, on the tablets of Ukrainian history as the one who made the ultimate sacrifice, as the one who gave his life for his neighbors, for his native people and his native state-Ukraine!
