New memorial steles consecrated on the Alley of Heroes in Velyki Mosty

In Velyki Mosty, seven new memorial steles have been consecrated on the Alley of Heroes in honour of servicemen from the community who were killed defending Ukraine’s independence and freedom.

One of the steles has been installed in honour of Ihor Vysotskyi. He was commander of the mortar unit of the 2nd mechanised battalion of military unit A4053. Vysotskyi was killed on 9 July 2024 during fighting near Makiivka in Luhansk region; he was 48 years old.

The memory of Pavlo Dumanskyi — a volunteer of the 125th Separate Heavy Territorial Defence Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — has also been immortalised. He carried out combat missions in the Lyman sector and was killed on 20 November 2022 near Yampilivka in Donetsk region, having saved his comrades at the cost of his own life. The defender will forever be 19; he was posthumously awarded the title Hero of Ukraine.

A separate stele is dedicated to Mykhailo Nikitin, who joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2022. He served as a driver in a fire support platoon and took part in combat operations against the Russian occupiers. The defender died at the age of 33.

The Alley of Heroes also commemorates Nazarii Vladyka. He had been in military service since 2016 and was a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation as part of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynskyi. After the start of the full-scale invasion, he continued his service in the 80th Separate Air Assault Halychyna Brigade and became a full Cavalier of the Order “For Courage”. Vladyka was killed on 18 June 2026 at the age of 29.

Another stele has been installed in honour of Volodymyr Behai. He was an unmanned aerial vehicle operator in military unit A3719 and carried out combat missions in difficult sectors of the front. The warrior’s life was cut short on 5 June 2026, when he was 26 years old.

Bohdan Dovbush has also been immortalised. The soldier took part in the Anti-Terrorist Operation from 2015 and, with the start of the full-scale war, returned to the front once again. He sustained a severe wound near Katerynivka in Luhansk region. The defender’s heart stopped on 27 May 2026 during treatment; he was 41 years old.

The seventh stele is dedicated to Bohdan Mysak. He rose to Ukraine’s defence in May 2024 and served as an anti-tank guided missile platoon operator in the 80th Separate Air Assault Halychyna Brigade. He was killed on 15 April 2026 near the village of Sadky in Sumy region, at the age of 23.

Those present at the consecration expressed their gratitude and respect to the families of the fallen warriors, emphasising that their feat will forever remain in the community’s memory.
