On the facade of Verchanska Gymnasium, another memorial plaque was unveiled and consecrated, dedicated to Andrii Popovych, a fallen Defender of Ukraine.
His family, friends, pupils and the school administration came to pay tribute to the Warrior. Mayor Oleh Kanivets stressed the importance of preserving the memory of fallen defenders and thanked everyone involved in organising the event.
ANDRII POPOVYCH (23.08.1989–27.12.2025) served as a camouflage specialist in the engineer-sapper company of a military unit, having been mobilised in April 2024. He served in the 42nd Separate Mechanised Brigade.
While performing his military duty near the settlement of Novopavlivka in Dnipropetrovsk region, Andrii Popovych sustained a severe wound and later died in a medical facility in the city of Dnipro.
