On June 18, a fire broke out on a diesel train at the Sokal railway station in the settlement of Zhvyrka, part of the Sokal community.
According to the head of the Sheptytskyi District Military Administration, the blaze started in the engine compartment of the DRIА217-1 diesel train locomotive. The fire affected an area of approximately 15 square meters.
Firefighters quickly responded to the scene and managed to contain the flames, preventing the fire from spreading further. Thanks to their coordinated efforts, both the locomotive and two carriages were saved.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the relevant authorities.
