Farewell in Zhyrivka to defender Oleksandr Yevhenovych Kosakovskyi

In the village of Zhyrivka, a farewell ceremony will be held for Ukraine’s defender Oleksandr Yevhenovych Kosakovskyi, a resident of Lviv whose life was closely connected with this village, where his family lives.

Oleksandr Kosakovskyi was born on 1 March 1984. He served as a senior rifleman in the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov”. For almost a year the defender was considered missing in action, and in recent days his death on 1 June 2025 has been confirmed.

He is survived by his brother Vasyl and his family, and his aunt Stefaniia and her family.

Residents of the community are asked tomorrow at 10:30 to meet the funeral cortege by the sign at the entrance to the village of Zhyrivka and to pay their respects as they accompany the warrior on his final journey.

  • 11:00 — requiem service in the yard at: 43 Tsentralna Street;
  • 11:30 — funeral service in the Church of St Michael the Archistrategos in the village of Zhyrivka.

The burial will take place at the local cemetery. The announcement extends condolences to the family and friends of Oleksandr Kosakovskyi and notes that they bow their heads in honour of his sacrifice.
