A state award ceremony for the defenders of Ukraine took place at the Zolochiv Regional State Administration.
Today, in the walls of the Zolochiv District State Administration, state awards were presented to the defenders of Ukraine. Recognized for personal courage in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and dedicated military duty performance, were the soldiers of the Krasne territorial community.
Posthumously, the medal “For Resilience and Courage” was awarded to soldier Ivan Makutsky, a resident of the village Zadvirya. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine’s award “Knight’s Cross” was given to soldier Andriy Furda, a resident of the village Andriyivka, who is currently considered missing. “We believe and hope for his speedy return home”.
Ivan Yevstakhovych Makutsky was born in the village Zavadyvka, Turka district, Lviv region. He studied at the Turka Secondary School No. 1, where he emerged as a diligent and kind student. After school, he obtained the specialty of a tractor-machine operator of the second category. Ivan was married and raised five children. To his family, he will remain a good, sensitive, and loving husband and father, always ready to support and help others.
During his school years, he was passionate about dancing, and later his hobbies became mushroom farming and DIY projects. In recent years, Ivan worked at LLC “Lan-Limited” as an operator. On May 31, 2023, he stood for the defense of Ukraine, serving in the machine gun platoon of the 422nd Motorized Infantry Battalion of the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, with the call sign “Ded-Uncle Vanya”. On July 14, 2025, while performing a combat mission in the area of the settlement Kutkivka, Kharkiv region, Ivan was severely injured and died from the received injuries on July 26, 2025. He was buried in the village of Zadvirya, Zolochiv district, where he lived in recent years.
During the event at the Zolochiv RSA, the family of Hero Ivan Makutsky was handed the state award. Those present honored the memory of the fallen soldier with a minute of silence. On behalf of the community, deep gratitude was expressed for devoted service, courage, and sacrifice.
