The village of Ulychne and the entire Truskavets community are accompanying Mykhailo Syrvatka on his final journey after he was killed defending Ukraine. The serviceman has returned to his native village “on his shield”.
It is reported that on 8 August 2026 the soldier was killed in action near the village of Vasynivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. Mykhailo Syrvatka was 47 years old.
Mykhailo Orestovych Syrvatka was born on 15 November 1978 and lived in Ulychne. It is here that he will be laid to rest, so that he may forever repose in his native soil.
A vigil for the fallen will take place on 18 August at 20:00, and the funeral service is scheduled for 19 August at 11:00.
Mykhailo Syrvatka served as a soldier in the 2nd mortar platoon of the motorised infantry battalion of military unit A3425. The community stresses that he will forever remain in the memory of his family, fellow villagers and all of Ukraine as a defender who gave his life for his Homeland and its people.
