The Sheptytska community has been struck by grief as news arrives of the death of their fellow citizen and Hero, Mykola Mykolayovych Sapiha, born in 1982.
Serving as a rifleman and crew member in an airmobile unit of military unit A2582, Mykola had been listed as missing in action since February 2024. Recently, it was confirmed that he died in combat on February 11, 2024, in the area near the village of Verbove in Zaporizhzhia region.
His sacrifice in the fight for Ukraine’s freedom is invaluable. We bow our heads in deep respect to this Defender who gave his life for our liberty.
The Sheptytska City Council extends sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. The community mourns this irreparable loss and will forever honor his memory.
