The Sokilnyky community has been deeply shaken by the tragic loss of one of its defenders — Maryan Khoma. He died on September 29 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Shevchenko, close to the city of Pokrovsk.
The sad news was shared by the head of the community, Taras Sulymko, who noted that Maryan was his neighbor and someone he knew well. Sulymko emphasized that while war inevitably brings losses, each fallen soldier is a personal pain for the entire community.
“My deepest condolences to Maryan’s family. Your loss is immeasurable, and words cannot ease the pain. I stand with you in your grief and sorrow,” said Sulymko.
Maryan Khoma was one of those who stood up to defend Ukraine from the very beginning. His bravery and sacrifice will always be remembered by his fellow villagers.
