We have received another sorrowful news about a warrior returning home on his shield.

The brave defender, a native of Mshana, Andriy Tarasovych Kovalychyk, was born on April 9, 1993. From the first day of the full-scale invasion, Andriy stood up to defend the Motherland. Throughout his difficult journey, he shielded his family from the harsh realities of war.

Now, they learn about the more than 400 combat flights as part of the 12th Separate Army Aviation Brigade named after General-Horunzhyi Viktor Pavlenko, including flights to Azovstal in occupation, among other missions.

On August 19, 2024, while serving with the 150th Separate Mechanized Brigade, during combat tasks in Donetsk region, soldier Andriy Kovalychyk went missing. Tears and prayers filled the hearts of all the Hero’s family and friends, holding onto hope of seeing their Hero alive. But they received the relentless, sorrowful news: Andriy had died.

We express our sincere condolences to the warrior’s family: his mother, father, sister and her family, grandmothers. His nieces and godchildren, who immensely love their Hero for his lighthearted and cheerful nature, for his courage, and strive to follow Andriy’s footsteps in all aspects.

Eternal honor to the Hero! May our memory and gratitude never fade. Receive him, Lord, into Your Kingdom!
