In the fight for Ukraine’s freedom and independence, Senior Soldier Ihor Bohdanovych Mankovskyi, born in 1989 and resident of the village of Borynychi, part of the Khodoriv territorial community, was killed.
Ihor served as a rifleman in the rifle platoon’s rifle section. He was performing his combat mission near the settlement of Vozdvyzhenka in the Donetsk region. His life tragically ended on November 13, 2024, as a result of an enemy FPV drone strike.
For more than half a year, Ihor was considered missing. His family, comrades, and everyone who knew him held onto the hope for a miracle until the very end. Unfortunately, on July 17, 2025, after the completion of the DNA-examination procedure, the worst was officially confirmed — the warrior had died defending Ukrainian land.
The Hero will be buried in his native village of Borynychi. The cortege with the body of the deceased will pass through Novyi Rozdil, where the community will meet the warrior at the Alley of Heroes and honor his memory with a prayer. The exact time of the cortege’s arrival will be announced later.
