Heroes do not die: Lopatynska hromada says goodbye to Dmytro Osiychuk

It is with deep pain that we inform you that on 1 February 2025, while performing a combat mission near the village of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region, our fellow countryman, a resident of the village of Hrytsevola of the Lopatynska community, Dmytro Yevhenovych Osiychuk (born 16.09.1993), was killed. He served the Ukrainian people faithfully, remaining loyal to his oath until his last breath.

Dmytro began his military career in the first days of the full-scale invasion – on 26 February 2022, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In February 2023, during the battle for Bakhmut, he was seriously wounded. After lengthy treatment and rehabilitation, in October 2024, he returned to the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after King Danylo and continued to fight for Ukraine.

Dmytro is survived by two young children: 6-year-old son Bohdan and 4-year-old daughter Anastasiia.

Rest in peace to Dmytro Osiychuk, a true hero who defended Ukraine and each of us until his last breath. We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. No words can soothe the pain of this loss, because every fallen soldier is an unspeakable tragedy for his family, friends and the entire community.

🙏 Eternal memory and honour to the Hero!

The time of arrival and the farewell ceremony will be announced later.

🇺🇦 Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!
