For the third time this week, the Sokal community has received terrible news from the frontline.
On 09 August, 2024, Junior Sergeant Shelemey Bohdan Yaroslavovych, born on 02.06.1988, a resident of the village of Tudorkovychi, died in the battle for Ukraine, its freedom and independence.
The sad news was announced today by the Sokal City Council.
Bohdan was a participant in the anti-terrorist operation, from the first days of the full-scale invasion he volunteered to defend Ukraine, and was the commander of the rifle unit of the military unit A7075.
The flower of the nation is dying, young Heroes who would have lived and lived, dreamed, loved and raised children. The price paid by the Heroes for our peaceful life is too high, let us be worthy of their feat.
We express our sincere condolences to the parents, Mrs Halyna and Mr Yaroslav, and thank them for raising their patriotic son with dignity. Bohdan is also survived by his son Andriy and sister Maria and her family.
To recap: On 30 August, the community of Sokal said goodbye to defender Oleksandr Knei. In the Kursk region, a defender from Zavyshnia, Marian Stankevych, was killed while performing a combat mission.
Bohdan Shelemey’s body will be buried on Monday, 2 September, at 15.00, at the Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul, then the funeral cortege will go to the Hero’s native village of Tudorkovych, where a parastasis and burial ceremony will take place.
