In the village of Oleksychi, the funeral rite was held for Vasyl Merechko, a serviceman who defended Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and who died after a serious illness. This was reported by the Stryi City Council.
During the farewell, fellow villagers, relatives and friends paid tribute to the defender and expressed their condolences to his family.
