In Oriv, a Banner Honoring Vasyl Kyrchey Was Consecrated

In the village of Oriv, Truskavets community, a ceremony was held to consecrate a banner in honor of the warrior Vasyl Kyrchey.

Exactly a week before the anniversary of the death of warrior-Defender Vasyl Kyrchey, grateful villagers gathered to honor the memory of the modern Hero. The act of consecration was performed by the local parish pastor of the Protection of the Holy Virgin, Father Andriy Mychko. The ceremonial part of the event was prepared by the forces of the People’s House under the leadership of Ivanna Bolyuk.

Vasyl Yaroslavovych Kyrchey was born in the village of Oriv on March 24, 1974. He graduated from school here, lived, and started a family. From the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, Vasyl voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2023, he was severely wounded on the frontline and died on December 10, 2024.

The Oriv community will remember the feat of its fellow villager Vasyl Kyrchey. This will be daily reminded by the banner on the local Avenue of Glory and Memory.
